Membership is open to national subject associations that:

• Represent a defined curriculum learning area, discipline, or subject grouping

• Operate as a not-for-profit organisation

• Support learners, educators, and subject expertise in Aotearoa New Zealand

Becoming part of He Rau Ringa signals a commitment to working alongside other associations in ways that are constructive, transparent, and grounded in shared principles.

Member Associations:

• Retain full autonomy over their own decisions, positions, and advocacy

• Choose when to opt in or opt out of collective statements or actions

• Contribute to a shared voice on matters of national significance where appropriate

• Engage in respectful collaboration and knowledge sharing

He Rau Ringa recognises that strength lies in diversity. Each association brings its own expertise and perspective, and the Collective provides a space where these can come together to support the wider education system.
